What is it?
DeWolfeADay (Twitter URL) is the fictional Twitter account for Opal DeWolfe, a character from my ever-ongoing “Guardians” series. Almost all posts on the account are meant to be made in-character.
What’s the Goal?
The whole point of the project is to better understand the character of Opal primarily through role play. By stepping into the mindset of her and making full use of the features that Twitter has to offer, (commenting on things she would comment on, following things she would follow, etc.), I hope to develop a character with ideals, flaws and other such personality traits.
The project is also an experiment is world building using only characters to provide information and context.
Where Will This Project Go?
Currently, as of this writing, the project is just starting. My current goal is to flesh out the account with proper biography information and to decide what kinds of accounts she would follow.
Who Is This Character?
Opal DeWolfe is a woman in her 30s who has been through a lot in her youth. In her 20s, she was made an offer that would set her life back on track, or at least more towards how she would like it. More than that I would like to reveal as the project continues.
What is the Setting?
The Guardians world is something that is still being developed, but it can be broken down into a sci-fi reversal of the “Angels Versus Demons” trope, where angels are the corrupting influences over Mankind and demons wish for peace and stability.
While the world Opal inhabits is primarily the work of science fantasy, I would like to keep that aspect as low-key as possible: The idea of just arbitrarily throwing information around bugs me, so I wish to insert such snippets as naturally as possible.
